Rossmoor Woman’s Club members filled a table at the Los Alamitos Chamber Of Commerce 2025 Heroes Luncheon on Sept. 18. We were a Blue Co-Sponsor of the event, which honored outstanding first responders from the military, local police and fire agencies and UCI Health-Los Alamitos Medical Center.
Those receiving special Heroes Awards were California Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Feliciano V. Sanchez Jr.; California Highway Patrol Officer Paul Paddon; Joint Forces Training Base 40th infantry Division SFC Neyra Valenzuela; Los Alamitos Police Department Detective Steven Smith; Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Chuck Fedak (who came to the luncheon directly from fighting a fire in Westminster); Orange County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sean Talei; Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station MA2 Raymond R. Duque Jr.; and UCI Health-Los Alamitos Director of Pharmacy Services Min Sung.
“This is the safest spot in town right now,” Chamber Co-President Dr. Andrew Pulver — Los Alamitos Unified School District superintendent in his day job — quipped to the crowd in the Rush Park Auditorium.
