Congrats to Los Al Students of the Month
The Rossmoor Woman's Club honored Los Alamitos High School seniors Sally Stuart and Hannah Osborne as students of the month for September and October, respectively.
Sally, shown at left, made the school’s nationally ranked Varsity Song team as an incoming freshman. The team has since won three national and two world championships, and Sally was recently named National Senior Solo Jazz Champion at the Universal Dance Association’s nationwide solo showdown. Sally and her team have raised more than $30,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as part of a UDA initiative. Sally also is active in student government at Los Al, where she has been responsible for student recognition and publicity in the Associated Student Body organization. In the community, she babysits at the Precious Life Shelter and recently hosted a supply drive for shelter residents. Sally maintains a 4.5 GPA and hopes to pursue medical and nutrition studies in college.
Hannah Osborne is a 4-year member of the Los Alamitos Dance team and Advanced Dance class. She is involved in the Spanish Honors society and has achieved a cumulative weighted 4.2 GPA. Outside school, Hannah assists dancers with Down Syndrome through “Down for Dance” and participates in the youth ministry program at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. In the future, Hannah hopes to study kinesiology in college and eventually become a physical therapist. She enjoys dancing, surfing, and spending time with friends and family whenever she can.
Each student received a certificate and $600 scholarship award from the Rossmoor Woman's Club.
